#1 Will your home provide enough space for you in 3-5 years?

Look ahead for a minute and consider whether or not your current space will accommodate growing children (or more children!). Outside of bedrooms, does your home provide enough space for play, entertaining, and storage?

The pandemic has taught us that our living space has to play multiple roles in our lives. Do you have enough space for working. How about exercise and wellness? Do you have a dedicated space to take care of those needs as well?

#2 Do you have plans to move anyway?

If you already had plans to move eventually, you may benefit from looking into your options sooner rather than later. As we know, home prices always tend to rise over the long term. Meaning the same house you buy in the next year will almost always be worth more 5 years from now.

If you buy, that’s great for your home value. But, if you wait to buy, it means you’re going to be paying much more for the same property.

#3 Do you want to grow your wealth?

Like I said, home values always trend upward. It’s likely that your current home’s value has gone up and increased your wealth. If your goal is to move up to a larger space, now may be the time to leverage that home equity to propel you into a bigger home.

Your bigger home will also benefit from the same upward trend and increase your wealth as a homeowner.
